Driving Activities

This is Achilles  being long reined by a friend of ours.  This is a preliminary to actually hooking him to a carriage or cart.  It also test the responsiveness and willingness to listen to the aids for everyone's safety including his own.  Good start for him so we expect to harness him to a cart in the near future. 07/29/2010

 Success at last, this is a picture taken from the carriage seat on a road in Lancaster Pa where the boys have been in training for the past 60 days.  Huge success finally after many years of frustrating training.  Samuel Smucker has done a fabulous job with the pair.

Joyce driving Apollo for the first time.  We have been trying to reach this point for about 3 years now and it great to have achieve this success working with Sam Smucker in such a short time.
